Using The World of Difference in your own practice
As a Guide, you use the PersonalMap and the floormap of The World of Difference with your own clients and in a way that fits your approach. You make behaviour and patterns between people visible and let participants experience what changes when they take a step.
You already know how to get people, teams and organisations moving. Yet conversations about behaviour can remain general, become too personal or make people cautious. The map gives these conversations a clear and accessible form, while still allowing you to explore what is really happening.
Today, more than 1,000 certified Guides in 20 countries—trainers, coaches, teachers and internal professionals—use The World of Difference within their own practice.

Becoming a Guide gives you a tool that takes your training and your conversations to a deeper level. It is dynamic and interactive, and helps you stand out to your clients.
One certification, delivered entirely online
There is one Guide certification, covering both individual work and working with teams. The programme combines self-paced e-learning with live virtual sessions.
You work through the e-learning at your own pace and join the live sessions along the way. This allows you to build the foundation before you practise and fit the programme around your own work.
The certification is delivered entirely online, so you can take part wherever you are. From three colleagues onwards, we can run it as a dedicated group programme tailored to your organisation.
From your first conversation to your first session
These are the steps towards becoming a certified MapsTell Guide.
Step 1 - The Discovery Call
Becoming a Guide always starts with a personal introduction. During a 30-minute video call, we get to know each other and explore how The World of Difference fits your practice, your audience and your ambitions. This is not an extensive intake, but a thoughtful conversation in which you can ask anything you want.
Step 2 - The e-learning
A compact module in which you get to know The World of Difference, PersonalMapping, the map metaphor and the facilitation principles. You finish with a short test, so you come to the live sessions prepared.
Step 3 - The live virtual sessions
You step onto the map yourself, practise with hands-on exercises and apply everything directly to your own practice. You leave with materials, insights and exercises you can use immediately.
Already certified to use another instrument?
Then we build on what you already know and take you further in working with The World of Difference. Because the e-learning is self-paced, you can move quickly through what is familiar and spend your time on what is new.

World Wise: helping you get started as a Guide
For the first 90 days after your certification, we support you through our World Wise programme, so you can deliver your first workshop with The World of Difference as quickly as possible. It starts with the Flying Start Session: a personal walkthrough of your Dashboard and the GuideJourney, helping you build practical experience from the start.

MapsTell works with Guides in 20 countries, and Heller still speaks with them personally. However you choose to contact us, you can always reach the people at the heart of MapsTell. You can start with a 30-minute Discovery Call. We would much rather hear what you are working on than tell you what we sell. And if we feel that MapsTell is not right for your situation, we will say so.
